Supply and Demand

The Island Supply store in Adventureland sells a variety of tropical themed gifts, but it also apparently supplies the surrounding area with basic necessities. Spools of colored yarn can be seen on racks high above the store front.

I've always thought this was one of the coolest, strangest details in the Magic Kingdom... I have yet to get compelling evidence that they're an opening day feature but they probably are, given their close proximity to the old "The Magic Carpet" shop.

Did you ever get my e-mail from a while back about a few MK details you could... detail?

While working on another project, this was one of those details that has been a veritable thorn in my side, as I cannot find any rhyme or reason for its existence or placement. While I think it's a wonderful detail that is fun to point out, when asked the question "Why is it there?" or "What does it mean?" I often reply with something like, "Look! Dole Whips!" LOL

Oh, and by the way?.... LOVE the new logo!

Lou - I is sticking to my theory that it's there because it's right above what was once a store called The Magic Carpet. This theory is brilliant, as carpets are made out of yarn-like material, you must concede. ;)
