An Initial Memory

Above the Pirate's of the Caribbean entrance sits Walt and Roy's unfinished apartment in New Orleans Square. Although the wonderful Disney Gallery that used to occupy the space is no more, and Imagineers are presently hard at work to transform the place into a Year of Million Dreams suite, it is nice to see that the original wrought-iron railings bearing Walt and Roy's initials can still be seen.

I am excited about the transformation--but more disappointed that the former public space is available no longer.

The Gallery was a beautiful and quiet spot. A respite from the busy park. And knowing that it would have housed the Disney family made it even more "romanitc" in its own terms.

I just know that I will never win the over night stay, so I feel left out.

Thanks for the shot! :)

I managed to snap a couple close-ups of this when I was there in June (You cannot embed pictures in a comment):
