A Face Emerges

I just can't stay away from the wonderful wackiness of the Muppets. The Stage 1 Company Store building that houses the Muppets gift shop has always been a favorite of mine for its amazing collection of eye candy both inside and outside.

Interestingly enough, the side that faces Mama Melrose bears an excellent resemblance to the top of the Paramount Building in Times Square, right down to the globe and large clock. Of course, this version has been given the complete Muppet makeover, thereby converting the old globe into an unmistakeable impression of a certain Mr. Bunsen Honeydew.

You're right Jessica, I find I have to restrain myself from going overboard with the Muppets at 2719. I could put up Muppets posts weekly and still not run out of material anytime soon.

The Studio Store is pretty amazing. I love the homage to the Happiness Hotel from the Great Muppet Caper that is featured inside.

Ah, Muppets... Jeff, you failed to mention what a special place they hold in your heart, as it is where we first "met" on the air. LOL (Jeff's first segment on the show with me about about MuppetVision).

The only thing I hope for more than people just taking the time to look inside the Stage 1 store at all the details is for Disney to actually put in some great adult Muppet merchandise!!

Oh great... Now I have the "Manah Manah" song in my head. :)

Oh, Lou...pretty sappy...

It is where a lot of "us" met Jeff.

Three things:
1. Jeff post more Muppets
2. Jessica post more
3. Somebody tell me why I have never seen this before?

And that is my 3 year old's favorite song!

Lou, I am very much with you in the plea for more Muppet merchandise. Gonzo happens to be my favorite Muppet (coincidentally, Dave Goelz, who does the voice for Gonzo, is also the new voice for Figment, who of course is my all-time favorite Disney character!). Yet it's near impossible to find anything with his likeness! It's quite a shame to have such a large store with about two-thirds being used to sell the same old stuff you can find anywhere else!

The area around MuppetVision is so wonderfully detail-rich that it's hard to restrain from going completely overboard. But as long as no one's complaining about "too much Muppets" (as if that's a bad thing!) I'll continue to post more.

Wouldn't it be great if Mahna Mahna and the Snowths made an appearance somewhere in MGM Studios?
