Travelling the jungle rivers is no easy task, especially when dealing with a wide array of dangerous illnesses and creatures. The queue for the Jungle Cruise is filled with photos, maps, and other paraphernalia including a certain poster warning about the risks of contracting malaria. Quinine was an often-used treatment for malaria up until the 1940s, and so was an important thing to pack for any jungle adventure.
This ornate doorknocker can be found gracing the front of one of houses that comprises the Hall of Presidents show building facade. Its handcrafted patriotic design is a perfect accent to the surrounding area.
The Pirates queue is full of intricate details that create excitement over what soon awaits. A large fireplace adorns a corner in the left side of the queue, with a family crest hanging above. It is a nice subdued area that serves as a reminder of the pillaging that is taking place all around.

On May 14th, my friend Ryan over at Main Street Gazette posted an article about the details found in the bathrooms at Camp Minnie-Mickey. I'll admit that I too share a fondness for bathroom decorations that employ the same story-telling techniques found elsewhere on property. It's a touchy subject, bathroom details, so I've held off sharing anything up to this point, until now.
These gorgeous tiles can be found in the bathrooms at Pirates of the Caribbean. They are full of so much amazing detail that it's hard to believe they were relegated to such a place. Large colorful fish surround a vessel that bears Viking influences, and if you look closely, you may even spot a lone passenger onboard.
The Frontierland Disney Vacation Club kiosk takes on the persona of the headquarters for the Getaway Stagecoach Line. Before boarding your coach for a trip out west, you may want to read the posted disclaimer, which only gets more outrageous as the point size decreases.
The final paragraph reads, "We will not accept responsibility for acts by highwaymen, savages, being broken down or any unforeseen conditions that may result in being delayed or not arriving to your destination. We cannot be expected to notify next of kin in the event of a catastrophic occurrence or unexpected fatality."
Along the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks heading into Frontierland, you'll find this Outpost 792 - Desperation.
The Island Supply store in Adventureland sells a variety of tropical themed gifts, but it also apparently supplies the surrounding area with basic necessities. Spools of colored yarn can be seen on racks high above the store front.
Minnie must get all of her great cheese recipes from these cookbooks found in her kitchen. It would not be surprising to find Le Cellier's famous Cheddar Cheese Soup among Mickey's tour of Walt Disney World food.
As part of her open house, Minnie shares a book that she authored, entitled "Famous Mice in History."
When Big Thunder was abandoned, work on the mine shafts was still in full swing, as evidenced by these dynamite sticks left in the rocks.
A waiting supply on dynamite sticks is also within easy reach on the floor nearby.
Another great find in this area is a crate bearing the Tri-Circle-D ranch insignia. Apparently the miners at Big Thunder Mountain are also patrons of Fort Wilderness.
The next time you enjoy a Dole Whip, make sure you take a closer look at the rock work that surrounds the area. The theming from the nearby Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse spills into this area, and that includes the benches across from the Aloha Isle.
At first glance, it is apparent that the makeshift benches have been fashioned together using flotsam from the Robinson's ship. You can easily see hints of crates, windows, and masts set amongst the stone walls.
Yet an even closer look will reveal intriguing carvings in the rocks, almost prehistoric in nature. The images are simple and the subject matter includes animals such as fish and turtles, people, objects such as boats and the sun, and geometric shapes. The origin of these images is never revealed, creating to a fascinating mystery. Perhaps they were created by the native people that lived on the Robinson's island, or they might stand alone as their own - disconnected from any ties to a pre-existing story.
